As a Principal Contractor, we carry out works for London Underground, Transport for London and Train Operating Companies such as GTR, Greater Anglia, Southeastern, South Western Rail, Crossrail, among others.
We are also approved Sub-Contractors for many Tier 1 Contractors. We provide specialist services and sub contract packages such as Ceilings, Builders Works, Fire protection and Vitreous Enamel installations.
All works are planned in detail in advance by our in house rail experienced managers including CREs and SSOW planners. Principles of prevention are applied from the earliest stages of works planning whether the project is Design and Build or Traditional Build. Network Rail works are planned in accordance with GE/RT8000 Railway Group Standard: Rule Book and London Underground works are planned in accordance with QUENSH conditions in addition to specific engineering standards and Sub-surface Railway Stations Regulations as applicable.
Detailed Works Package Plans, Safe Work Packs and Task Briefings are produced for all work activities.
We use our knowledge of railway working to plan and develop the most efficient and safe systems of work suitable for each project. In addition to assessing the technical requirements and risks of the specific construction activities, HA Marks managers also understand the additional risks arising from working on an operational railway. Platform works have the additional constraints of managing risks arising from passengers, station staff, moving trains and OLE/ third rail.
HA Marks follow best practicable means in reducing noise nuisance which may effect neighbouring properties during possession working and frequently work within the requirements of a Section 61 agreement with the local authority.
